BHOPAL: In a bid to rev up plant load factor (PLF) or efficiency of its thermal power station to 70 per cent, Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) have been signed between MP Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) top brass and heads of coal fired projects.
The move of MPGCL has come given that the PLF of the state isn't improving despite reforms under way in the power sector since a decade.
In last 12 years, the PLF was highest 73.14 per cent in 2002-03. In the fiscal 2003-04 it tumbled to 70.21 per cent. The PLF was at 61.38 per cent in the last fiscal, official said.

The new system has been put in place to fix accountability in power generation sector, MD said.
MPPGCL's Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station (SGTPS), Satpura Thermal Power Station (STPS) and Amarkantak Thermal Power Station (ATPS) have an installed capacity to generate 1340 mw, 1142 mw and 450 mw electricity respectively, officials said.
